Mark Barton has been in the pruning and
landscape industry for 26 years. As an
International Society of Arboriculture Certified
Arborist his interest in plants and landscape
started very early. He began learning topiary
pruning at age nine and later studied
horticulture for three years.
Arboriculture and our knowledge of how trees
and shrubs grow has changed dramatically in
the past quarter century. Staying abreast of the
most current techniques and practices requires
continual education. Landscapes are mirco
environments. To fully understand what is
going on in a landscape you need to understand
the interaction of the plants with the soil, sun,
